Using Secondary Constant Current to gain control of your resistance welding process can result in less down time, reduced scrap, and higher production efficiencies.
The following graphs show
the difference a Constant Current Control can make:
| This is what your primary line voltage does when presented with a load. | ![]() |
| See the corresponding drop in secondary weld current. | ![]() |
| Now see how the constant current control keeps the secondary current from dropping off. | ![]() |
Constant Current Feedback Theory
Using a toroidal coil, the current
wave form is reconstructed from the output signal. It is then transformed
into an RMS effective value using the following formula:
The control then compares this effective
value with the set current value. The weld current is corrected with every
half cycle through phase conversion and trigger pulse oscillation. The
result is smooth, consistent secondary welding current delivered at the
weld regardless of the line voltage fluctuations.
1. Schedule number: Up to 15 schedules
can be stored in memory for instant recall.
2. Three impulse weld time: Provides
weld time flexibility for a wide variety of welding applications.
3. Weld Current: Weld 1, 2, 3 can
be set and displayed.
4. Current and Conduction degree
monitor: Sets the High and Low current limit (1-->99%) and monitors current
fluctuation and conduction degrees.
5. Valve and Mode Select: Step-up
/ Counters / Turn Ratio, +/-% Current Window
6. Caution and Error Indicators:
No current, Overtemp, SCR Short, Current Limit, No weld, and Step End.
7. Emergency Stop
